What Happened

The summer WEC got off to a great albeit delayed start from the VIC. Flash discovered a PIT at the start and then required a few minutes to change tubes.

13 Grimesters were soon off and flying down Holly lane and into the woods and down the hill towards ASDA and the A217. We found the now even more elaborate jumps in the woods behind ASDA. These jumps are now beyond our repertoire without Tiggers help. Too many spotty jumpers where around even for any Grimesters to make fools of themselves.

The GuvNor Geko got confused for a moment resulting in a brief GM take over in true Spaniard style. The GuvNor soon re-established order in the ranks and the route returned to that recognised by seasoned WEC members and headed off down through Nork Park.

The ride up to the Downs was high lighted by Gadget firstly playing bike football which soon developed into bike water polo after a stray pass into a large puddle. Dusk was just coming down after the crew topped Ebbisham Lane and lights were required on the track behind the Rat.

Once onto Banstead Heath we stopped for the Pork Pie Stop and the drizzle started to set in.

Across the heath and down to post a letter corner and 2 PITs for Flash and Olivio halted matters abruptly. Whilst Silent Running went on a family visit the 2 PITs were changed and then both Olivio and Flash failed miserably to deploy their CO2 load to their rings! The Govnor rescued the situation with skillful handling of the gas canisters.

The PIT delay prompted a change in the route in Baton style. a detour past the Bee farm avoided a muddy climb. However, a grime failure by the Earl managed to reduce the party to 9. After concern for the missing grimesters lasting all of about 3 seconds dwindled, the immortal words "F**k em" were uttered and the remaining riders pressed on up to Perrotts Farm where the missing riders were soon retrieved and pushed on through the hospital.

Back up Holly Lane and we were soon at the Woodman via the back streets of Banstead.

We decided to blow out the Curry Centre (who had previously refused to allow the GuvNor to book a table after 10pm! will not be spending our WECles there again!) and indulge in curry in the pub. This tasted great dispite being suspiciously ASDA like!

More of the usual discussion occured around a plethera of topics including Polish lodgers for GM, Polish scantily clad bouncy castle workers for Flash and the Gadget gash in somerset which lead to the quest for a Polish dancer in the local newspaper.
