This week there was a deluge of excuses for not attending the WEC, none of which actually admitted to the true reason, the root of which was situated behind the former iron curtain. The final straw came when the GM cried off with claims of a serious calf injury sustained during a football match this had a certain irony to it (reference back to the irony curtain).

Nevertheless 2 loyal grimesters met at the MDS and Gadget took this as an ideal opportunity sample the local refreshments with a cheeky one before the ride. This of course was in celebration of our double pork pie points awarded for turning up. After waiting long enough for stragglers to turn up (not long because we knew no-one else would bother coming!) we set off on a slightly modified route directly to the GMs House of Grime to call his bluff and check out his beer collection.

New tracks were encountered across Banstead Downs and then on (more of less as the crow flies) towards Tattenham Corner.
As suspected the crippled GM was found sweeping leaves outside the House of Grime. After the GM qualified for a double joker by being present for part of the ride, the ride thus ended and WEC protocol kicked in with the GM hospitality being gratefully accepted. Coincidentally he also happened to have the football available on a television and we decided to satisfy our curiosity and investigate this source of seemingly addictive attraction to other WECsters.

After a satisfactory outcome to the football resulting in almost unanimous disappointment for all absent Grimesters, the evening came to a close. Thanks go to the GM, who earned a double joker and double PP points to boot. This audacious pork pie point harvest rivaled the Guvnors joker on the final ride of the 2006 WEC when he joined the ride with five minutes to go.
